SkyTrak

SkyTrak GolfPhotometric High-Speed Camera / Photometric Camera + Dual Doppler Radar (ST+ and ST MAX)

Overview

SkyTrak is one of the most popular launch monitors for home golfers. The original SkyTrak used only photometric cameras to capture ball data and estimated club speed from ball metrics. The ST+ and ST MAX add dual Doppler radar for directly measured club data (club speed, club path, face angle, smash factor), a significant upgrade for swing analysis. The ST MAX (2025) enhances the ST+ with a faster processor, Speed Training powered by GOLFTEC, and dual USB-C connectivity.

Best For

Home golfers who want reliable data and simulator capability without a large investment. ST MAX is the current model; ST+ available at discount while stock lasts.

Available Models

SkyTrak

Ball data only; club speed and smash factor were estimated from ball data, not directly measured

Discontinued

SkyTrak+ (ST+)

Ball data + club data (club speed, smash factor, club path, face angle) via dual Doppler radar. Being phased out — available while supplies last.

$2,000

SkyTrak ST MAX

Same core metrics as ST+, with faster processor, dual USB-C ports, Speed Training (GOLFTEC), and improved putting capture (up to 30 yards)

$3,000

Note: The SkyTrak+ is being phased out in favor of the ST MAX. Once remaining ST+ inventory is sold, the ST MAX ($2,995) will be the only model available. Original SkyTrak has been discontinued since the ST+ launch.

Metrics Tracked (14)

Ball Data (All Models) — Measured via photometric camera

Ball Data (All Models) — Calculated from flight model

Club Data (ST+ and ST MAX Only) — Via dual Doppler radar + machine learning

SkyTrak (discontinued): Club speed and smash factor were estimated from ball data using machine learning, not directly measured. Accuracy dropped significantly on off-center hits.

ST+ and ST MAX: Club speed, smash factor, club path, and face angle are directly measured via dual Doppler radar. Ball data measured via photometric cameras.

NOT available on any SkyTrak model as of early 2026: Angle of Attack, Dynamic Loft, Impact Location. SkyTrak has indicated Angle of Attack may be added in a future update but no timeline has been provided.

How to Export CSV

  1. 1Open the SkyTrak app and connect your SkyTrak
  2. 2Open the Driving Range
  3. 3Select History at the top of the screen
  4. 4Tap Export in the top right
  5. 5Choose CSV format
  6. 6Save or send the file

Note: CSV export has had reliability issues across app updates (version 4.3 removed it temporarily, later versions restored it with intermittent bugs). If CSV export is not working, try PDF export as an alternative, or export from third-party simulator software if available.

Important

CSV export from the SkyTrak app has known reliability issues as of early 2026. If CSV is unavailable or broken, consider: (1) PDF export from the SkyTrak app, (2) exporting from third-party sim software, or (3) uploading screenshots to SimSights instead.

If you hit shots through GSPro, E6 Connect, or Awesome Golf instead of the SkyTrak driving range, your shot data lives in that software, not the SkyTrak app. Export from the sim software directly — see our guides for GSPro, Awesome Golf, and E6 Software.

Tips for Best Results

  • Position the unit slightly toward the target-side of the ball (right of the ball for right-handers, left for left-handers)
  • Use premium golf balls — range balls affect spin accuracy significantly
  • Good lighting improves camera performance, especially indoors
  • Level the unit carefully for accurate launch direction readings
  • The SkyTrak connects via USB, Direct Mode (wireless, no internet), or Network Mode (wireless with internet — recommended)
  • ST MAX: Built-in Speed Training (GOLFTEC) tracks swing speed progress over time
  • ST MAX: Extended putting capture works up to 30 yards for short game practice
  • Keep firmware updated — version 5.3+ improved shot capture rate to 99.5%
