Garmin • Doppler Radar (R10) / 3 High-Speed Cameras (R50)
Overview
The Garmin Approach R10 is a compact, affordable Doppler radar launch monitor designed for home practice and range use. The Approach R50 is a premium camera-based launch monitor and simulator with a 10" built-in touchscreen, 3 high-speed cameras, and impact video replay. CSV export is available through the Garmin Golf app and compatible third-party software.

Tips for Best Results
- R10: Position ~7-9 feet behind the ball, aligned with target
- R10: Works best outdoors with full ball flight for accurate spin data
- R10: Use Titleist Pro V1/V1x RCT balls indoors for up to 30x better spin accuracy and 50% better carry distance accuracy
- R50: Apply club tracking stickers for direct club metric measurement via cameras
- R50: Cameras directly measure spin rate and spin axis — no special balls needed indoors
- Ensure firmware is up to date for best accuracy and features
- R10 battery lasts about 10 hours; R50 battery lasts about 4 hours
- Use the alignment feature in the app for consistent setup
